About The Author
Rob Jacob was born in 1963 and grew up in Federal Way, Washington. He was exposed to boxing as a child from his father who boxed in the Navy, and even fought professionally for a brief time. Rob expressed to his parents that he wanted to learn Karate, and they promptly signed him up for Judo classes. He lasted for several months in the Judo classes before leaving. Rob began studying Shito-Ryu Karate while attending college in 1982. He currently holds a third degree black belt in Isshinryu Karate, and also studies Kokikai Aikido. Rob has built one of the largest private martial arts book collections in the United States. He lives with his wife Helen and their Airedale Terrier Issaquah in Rochester, New York.
